Student F Letter Notifications

In order to insure parent notification, student accountability and minimize the loss of credit, the following steps should be taken for all graduating current cohort year students to notify parents of their progress following the completion of each grade reporting term.

1. From your PowerSchool Dashboard, select grade 12.  You can also filter for cohort year (AZ_SAIS_NormalGraduationYear=2017) or search by number of earned credits, for example (*cumulative_credit_hours>18)  
2. Once you have your graduating group selected, click on Special Functions within the menu on the left side of the page.
3. Under Functions click on Search by Grades/Attendance.  Make sure that the selected group is tagged and not all enrollments (see below)

4. Set the minimum number of classes to be applied (for example two failing grades) as well as all grades to included (e.g. F, D, NC)

5. Make sure that the scan is set to Historical grades and that the correct grade term is set.  Also, make sure that you have selected Make this the current selection under Results.

6.  After clicking the Submit button along the bottom of the page, you should now see the Current Student Selection number for students who match the search criteria (see below)…

7.  Scroll down the page under Printing and then select Print Reports.  From the drop-down menu, select F Letter as report option (see below).  Scroll to the bottom of the page to click SUBMIT to print.

A student Failure Notification Letter will now print for each student on the list.  You can also save the selection of students to follow up later by clicking the option to Save Stored Selection.  If you would like this letter printed on your official school letterhead, you will need to pre-load  the appropriate stationary into your copier PRIOR to completing your print run.
Please note that information on the form letter such as “Phone Number” are taken directly from completed course fields in PowerSchool.  If these fields are not up to date, you would need to submit a HelpDesk ticket to PowerSchool to let us know what the correct information is so that it can be updated.

Logging In to the SUSD Data Wall

If you have not yet logged in to the SUSD Data Wall, follow the directions posted below…

  1. Make sure that you are logged in to your district Google account (
  2. From the Sunnyside LEARN Page click on the Data Wall Link on the front page.

If you have multiple accounts on your browser, you may be prompted to select the account.  Make sure that you chose your current account to authenticate.
