Dear Parents and Guardians,

 

As we close the school year, I would like to remind you that attendance and learning is still very important for our students.  Teachers are preparing students for the next grade level by having them produce projects or presentations.  Please continue to support your child in his/her learning by ensuring that he/she attends school every day and on time.

I want to encourage all the Drexel families to make reading over the summer a priority.  The public library on Valencia has some wonderful programs that are free for our families. Story time, computer access, and many more activities. I hope you will look into them for the summer.

This school year we had some wonderful celebrations, and we continued many great programs for our students and families.  We hope everyone has a safe summer.  We hope to see many of you next school year!

Estimados Padres de familia,

Al concluir este año escolar, me gustaría recordarles que la asistencia y el aprendizaje sigue siendo muy importante para nuestros estudiantes. Los/as maestros/as  están preparando a los estudiantes para el siguiente nivel de grado haciendo proyectos o presentaciones. Por favor continúe apoyando a su niño/a en su aprendizaje, garantizando que el/ella asiste a la escuela todos los días y llegar a tiempo.

Quiero animar a todas las familias de Drexel para hacer la lectura prioridad durante el veranó. La biblioteca pública en la calle Valencia cuenta con algunos programas maravillosos que son gratuitos para nuestras familias. Tienen la hora del cuento, acceso a una computadora, y muchas actividades más.  Espero que mire estos programas durante el verano.

Este año escolar hemos tenido algunas fiestas maravillosas, y seguimos muchos programas  excelentes para nuestros estudiantes y sus familias. Esperamos que todos tengan un verano seguro. Esperamos ver a muchos de ustedes el próximos año escolar!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

 

April is a very important month for your child and your child’s school.  It is AIMS/Stanford 10 testing month!  The assessment is important for several reasons.

The AIMS/Stanford 10 shows the state how well your child is learning at Drexel.  Demonstrates your child’s learning growth.  It is an indicator of  how well Drexel staff prepared your child for the next school year.

We are excited about these assessments because our staff has been working all year to prepare your child for them.  We ask that parents support your child by making sure that you:

- Encourage your child to be on time to school each day

- Encourage a healthy breakfast in the morning (either at school or at home)

- Encourage your child to go to bed at a proper time each night so he/she is well rested

- Encourage your child to do his/her best by taking the time to read and choose the best answer

- Encourage your child’s self-esteem by knowing they are prepared for these assessments

 

If we all work together, your child will be successful.

Abril es un mes muy importante para sus hijos y la escuela. Es el mes de las pruebas AIMS/Stanford 10! La evaluación es importante por diversas razones.

Los examines AIMS/Stanford 10 muestra al estado de lo bien que su hijo/a esta aprendiendo en Drexel. Demuestra el crecimiento de aprendizaje de su hijo/a.  Es un indicador de  que tan bien el personal de Drexel esta preparando a su hijo/a para el próximo año escolar.

Estamos entusiasmados con esta evaluaciones,  porque nuestro personal ha estado trabajando todo el año para preparar a su hijo/a para los examines. Pedimos que los padres apoyen a sus hijos asegurándose de que:

• Anime a su hijo/a  llegar a tiempo todos los días.
• Fomente un desayuno saludable in la mañana. (ya sea en la escuela o en casa).
• Anime a su hijo/a que se acuesten a una hora adecuada para que estén bien descansados.
• Anime a su hijo/a hacer lo mejo tomando el tiempo para leer y elegir la mejor respuesta.
• Fomente la autoestima de su hijo, sabiendo que están preparados para estas evaluaciones.

Si todos trabajamos juntos, su hijo/a será exitoso.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

 

I would like to thank all the parents for attending the February conferences.  As you know, it is important to hear how your child is progressing this school year.

March is in full swing to prepare your student for the upcoming AIMS and SAT10 testing in April.  Please remember it is important to have your child arrive on time and attend school regularly.  Also, we would appreciate that appointments be made for your child after 2:30 p.m.   This way our students will receive the full benefit of all the learning that is taking place each day.  Our literacy block is especially important for your child.  We would appreciate your support by not checking out your child during this time.  Reading and writing is very important for each student’s success.

Spring break this month is another great opportunity for parents to encourage students to continue reading.  Please visit the public library and check out some wonderful books or see what activities they are offering during this vacation.

Me gustaría darles las gracias a todos los padres que asistieron las conferencias en febrero. Como ustedes saben, es importante  saber cómo está progresando su hijo/a este año escolar.

Marzo está en pleno apogeo para preparar a su hijo/a para las pruebas de AIMS y SAT10 en abril. Por favor, recuerde que es importante que su hijo/a llegue a tiempo y asista a clases con regularidad. Asimismo, le agradeceríamos que citas para sus hijos se hagan después de las 2:30 de la tarde. De esta manera, nuestros estudiantes van a recibir el beneficio completo de todo el aprendizaje que se lleva a cabo cada día. Nuestro bloque de alfabetización es especialmente importante para su hijo/a. Le agradecemos su apoyo al no sacar de la clase a su hijo/a durante este tiempo. La lectura y escritura es muy importante para el éxito de cada estudiante.

Las vacaciones de primavera de este mes es otra gran oportunidad para los padres para alentar a los estudiantes a continuar la lectura. Por favor, visite la biblioteca pública y escoja algunos libros maravillosos o ver cuáles son las actividades que están ofreciendo duarte estas vacaciones.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

 

     This month we are holding our second parent/teacher/student conference of the school year.  The teachers will be sending home info on the dates and times.  It is important that you and your child come to the conferences to see the progress your child  has made.  During this time, it is important to ask questions on how you can continue to support your child at home.  Our teachers have been very dedicated in preparing your child for the conclusion of this school year and next school year.  Please come and hear about the great things your child is accomplishing.

     We would like to remind parents to please make sure that students arrive on time to school,  and students are not taken out of the precious reading block period.  We dedicate three hours each day to support our students in reading strategies and skills.  However, if they are not at school, then your child may get behind.  Our mission at Drexel is to make sure that every child is near or at grade level at the end of every school year, but we need your assistance. 

     Thank you to all the parents that came out for our semester assembly.  It is always great to see the wonderful support.

     Este mes vamos a tener la segunda parte de conferencias  de padre/maestros/estudiantes de este año escolar. Los maestros van a enviar información a casa de las fechas y horario.  Es importante que usted y su hijo vengan a las conferencias para ver el progreso que sus hijos han hecho.  Durante este tiempo, es importante hacer preguntas sobre como usted puede seguir apoyando a sus hijos en casa.  Nuestros maestros han sido muy dedicados en preparar a sus hijos para la conclusión de este año escolar y el próximo año escolar. Por favor, vengan y oigan sobre las grandes cosas que su hijo esta logrando.

     Nos gustaría recordar a los padres que por favor asegúrese de que los estudiantes lleguen a tiempo a la escuela y los estudiantes no se toman fuera del periodo de lectura de bloques. Dedicamos tres horas cada día para apoyar a nuestros estudiantes en estrategias de lectura y habilidades. Sin embargo, si no están en la escuela, su niño/a puede quedarse atrás. Nuestra misión en Drexel es asegurarse de que cada niño/a este cerca o al nivel de grado al final de cada año escolar, per necesitamos su ayuda.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 

                 We at Drexel hope everyone had a safe and restful holiday break.  We were happy to see the students returning and happy to be back at school. 

I would like to remind everyone that attendance is very important as we head toward the second half of our school year. There are many studies that report student attendance  equals successful academic achievement. The state assessments are around the corner. Please support your child by getting him/her to school on time and attending every day.  The school hours are 7:55 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with early release on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.

 Arizona’s Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) will be upon us before we know it.  Teachers are dutifully preparing students for the AIMS assessment.  Please make sure you communicate your child’s progress with your teacher, make sure your child is completing homework. If you have any questions, please contact us.  We are here to support each student and his/her family.

Feliz Ano Nuevo! 

                  Nosotros aquí en la escuela Drexel esperamos que todos tuvieron un descanso de vacaciones seguro y tranquilo. Estamos felices de ver a los estudiantes regresar y feliz de estar aquí.. 

Me gustaría recordar a todos que la asistencia es muy importante ya que entramos a la segunda mitad de nuestro año escolar. Hay muchos estudios que informan de la asistencia de los estudiantes es importante para tener un rendimiento académico exitoso. Las evaluaciones estatales están alrededor de la esquina. Por favor apoye a su hijo/a haciendo que el/ella lleguen a la escuela a tiempo y asistir todo los días. Las horas de clases son 7:55 a.m. a 2:30 p.m. y a las 12:30 p.m. los miércoles.

Instrumento de Arizona para medir el nivel estará sobre nosotros antes de nos demos cuenta. Los/las maestros/as están preparando a los estudiantes para la evaluación AIMS. Dear Parents and Guardians,

 

As we close the calendar year and the days get shorter, I would like to remind parents how important it is for your child to attend school and arrive on time.  We have many students that arrive at school after the bell rings.  I want to remind all parents that as soon as students enter the classroom, school work begins.  It is hard when students arrive late and have to catch up with their peers.  If you need assistance in getting your child to school in a timely manner, please call the office.  We are happy to support you in this endeavor.

 

For parents who have been diligent in sending their child to school each and every day, the teachers thank you, but most importantly, your child thanks you.  The investment now will provide enormous rewards and benefits later for your child.

 

The staff and I would like to wish you a safe and happy holiday season. We hope to see everyone return in January!

Estimados padres,

 

Al cerrar el año y los días se hacen mas cortos, me gustaría recordar a los padres lo importante que es para su hijos asistir a la escuela y llegar a tiempo. Tenemos muchos estudiantes que llegan a la escuela después de que suene la campana. Quiero recordar a todos los padres que tan pronto como los estudiantes entran a la clase, el trabajo escolar comienza. Es difícil cuando los estudiantes llegan tarde y tienen que ponerse al día con sus compañeros. Si usted necesita ayuda para traer a su hijo/a a la escuela, por favor llame a la oficina. Estamos aquí para apoyarlos con esto.

 

Para los padres que han sido diligentes en enviar a sus hijos a la escuela todo los días, los maestros, les dan las gracias, pero mas importante, su hijo/a le da las gracias. La inversión ahora ofrecen enormes recompensas y  beneficios después.

 

El personal y yo nos gustaría desearle una temporada festiva segura y feliz. Esperamos verlos a todos cuando regresemos en enero.
